Research Institute for Organization and Digital Economy (RIDE) successfully organized the training course "AI Application Consultants for enterprises"

The first "Training of Trainers" training program on AI application consultants for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam, organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Research Institute for Organization and Digital Economy (RIDE) for 4 days from June 2 to June 5, 2025 at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, Hanoi.

The TOT (Training of Trainers) course “AI application consultants in enterprises” implemented by the Research Institute for Organization and Digital Economy (RIDE) within the framework of the Productivity Ecosystem for Sustainable Work (PE4DW) project of the International Labor Organization (ILO) funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Norwegian Organization for Development Cooperation (NORAD) took place successfully in Hanoi. 

The first day of the training course took place on the morning of June 2, 2025 with the opening session attended by representatives of sponsors SECO and NORAD, and representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO).  

At the opening ceremony of the training course "AI Application Consultant", Dr. Tran Nguyen Cac, President of RIDE Institute, gave a warm welcome speech to the participants and delegates.

Dr. Tran Nguyen Cac emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in businesses, especially in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution. According to Dr. Tran Nguyen Cac, this training course not only aims to improve the capacity of consultants but also contributes to promoting the digital transformation process in businesses, building sustainable productivity ecosystems.

Next, Ms. Ingrid Christensen, ILO Country Office Director in Viet Nam, delivered the opening remarks. She expressed her joy that the training course was implemented within the framework of an international project, and affirmed the important role of training high-quality human resources. She emphasized that applying AI technology in enterprises not only helps improve productivity but also protects the welfare of workers.

Representatives from the sponsoring agencies, Mr. Andri Meier, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam, and Mr. Erlend Skutlaberg, First Secretary at the Embassy of Norway in Hanoi, shared their countries’ commitment to supporting AI applications. These countries expressed their determination to contribute to the sustainable development of the region and the economy by promoting the application of AI in businesses.

In the opening session, Ms. Mun Na Eun, PE4DW Project Officer (ILO), also shared in-depth about the training program design orientation: not simply transferring knowledge, but building thinking capacity and practicing AI application consulting in real business environments.

Ms. Mun Na Eun, PE4DW Project Officer (ILO) shared details to help students have a specific picture of the training program.

According to her, the course is part of the project’s long-term effort to create a human-centered productivity ecosystem where technology is deployed not only for efficiency, but also for sustainability and inclusion. The teaching method is designed based on output capacity, integrating theory, practical situations, critical discussion and group practice – to create consultants capable of “translating” AI into the operational language of Vietnamese businesses.

The training course "AI Application Consultant in Enterprises" was successfully held in Hanoi from June 2 to 5, 2025, with the participation of 35 consultants working in the fields of business administration, productivity, quality and digital transformation.

The main objective of the training course is to equip students with in-depth knowledge and skills, helping them become AI consultants who can meet the growing needs of businesses in the context of the operational revolution brought about by AI.

The course focuses on human-centric AI applications to optimize business performance while improving employee experience and well-being. Trainees are updated with the latest AI trends and develop consulting skills to harmonize the interests of businesses and employees. During the 4-day course, trainees were equipped with knowledge from optimizing workflows, improving product quality, to applying AI in the fields of human resources, sustainable development and ensuring occupational safety.

The course not only focuses on theory but also incorporates practical activities such as group discussions, case studies and practical exercises, helping participants understand how to apply AI to real-life business situations. The training course has successfully completed its goal of not only providing students with effective consulting tools and strategies but also creating opportunities for connecting experts and businesses, promoting cooperation and development in the field of AI and digital transformation.

Awarding certificates to participants

After the training course, the 10 best consultants from the TOT course will be selected to continue to the practical consulting implementation phase at 05 model enterprises. Here, the consultants will have the opportunity to directly apply the knowledge they have learned, consult, deploy and support AI applications in the actual business activities of the enterprise. The process will include from assessing needs, to implementing solutions and measuring the effectiveness of AI applications in the business environment. This phase not only helps consultants consolidate their knowledge but also creates practical and sustainable changes in participating enterprises.

The training course is not only an opportunity for students to access new knowledge about AI but also an important step in improving and developing the capacity of businesses in Vietnam.
